HYDRAFACIAL - Bentleigh, MELBOURNE

World famous HydraFacial treatment

Say goodbye to dull skin and congested pores with our new HydraFacial skin resurfacing treatment in Melbourne, Bentleigh and bayside area. Your skin is generating new cells all the time, as cells beneath your skin make their way to the surface, bringing with them moisture and lipids that keep your skin looking fresh and young. As new cells arrive, old ones are shed – but unless you exfoliate many of them remain on the surface of your skin. Removing the layer of dead skin cells allows moisturisers to penetrate the skin and hydrate it, so exfoliation is essential to keep your skin looking young and fresh. Exfoliation prevents dead skin cells from clinging to the surface of your skin, where they could end up clogging hair follicles and causing acne. It is also an effective way to accelerate the repair and renewal of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulating the production of collagen, giving skin a healthy glow. HydraFacial helps reveal the smoother, more youthful skin underneath. It also improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, melasma, age spots, enlarged pores, excess oil, acne, puffy eyes, blackheads and whiteheads.

What is hydraFacial skin resurfacing treatment?

Medix Laser Clinic would like to introduce you to hydraFacial – the latest breakthrough in skin resurfacing technology at affordable cost. Suitable for all skin types and complexions both men and women, it is the only hydradermabrasion treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, peeling, extraction of impurities, hydration and antioxidant protection in just one treatment. This ability to moisturise the skin separates HydraFacial™ from all other skin exfoliating and resurfacing treatment in Melbourne. HydraFacial™ removes dead skin cells and impurities in a similar but gentler way to microdermabrasion, but also simultaneously bathes the underlying skin with active serums that cleanse, exfoliate, rejuvenate and hydrate the skin, refining skin tone and texture. HydraFacial™ is a quick and safe treatment that exfoliates and stimulates new skin cells to grow more rapidly, without requiring any downtime from work or social activities. It targets fine lines and wrinkles, congested and enlarged pores, oily or acne-prone skin, hyperpigmentation and brown spots, leaving the skin looking younger, fresher and more radiant.

HydraPeel or peeling with HydraFacial

With the HydraFacial™ system we also have the opportunity to carry out an effective and gentle peeling on the face and body. This special blend of glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids with a controlled, uniform acid application in a convenient, pre-measured vial is pH balanced and combines physical and chemical peeling to achieve optimal results. Unlike traditional acid peels, there is little to no downtime involved. Your skin will be well hydrated, smooth and fresh-looking after the procedure. HydraPeel is beneficial for almost all skin types and conditions, especially acne clogged or congested skin, ageing and sun damaged skins, fine lines and wrinkles and dull, thickened skin. Some people may experience redness as well as tightening of the skin, similar to mild sunburn. This should only last for a short period of time and should not create discomfort. There have been no major side effects associated with the treatment and healing time is usually a few hours, so there is no downtime and normal routines can be resumed immediately.

DermaBuilder or anti-ageing treatment with HydraFacial

At the end of a HydraFacial™ treatment, which includes cleansing, exfoliation, peeling, extraction and hydrating, you can also choose to have an anti-ageing skin rejuvenation treatment with dermaBuilder. DermaBuilder™ helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin firmness, skin tone and texture. To enhance the results of the HydraFacial™ skin treatment, dermaBuilder™ and the other serums are available for you to use at home to help combat those stubborn fine lines and wrinkles. This helps extend your treatment results and is considered an essential part of the procedure.

What happens during the HydraFacial resurfacing treatment?

The treated area should be free from cosmetic make-up. There are four different tips that will be placed on the HydraFacial machine and the tip is passed over the skin in smooth, stroking movements. A special serum, custom blended for your skin type, is simultaneously directed onto the skin and then immediately “vacuumed” away, along with loosened skin particles. The combination of serum-based skin exfoliation and slight vacuum stimulates production of collagen by fibroblasts and other cells at the basal layer of the epidermis. This improves cell turnover and blood flow and is ideal to reduce breakouts and blackheads. The proprietary serums within the HydraFacial MD range are delivered direct to the skin’s surface via the tip, including Activ-4 which contains glucosamine and lactic acid, as well as active botanicals for cleansing and hydrating all skin types, Glysal-peel which is a combination of Glycolic acid and Salysilic acid to hydrate and rejuvenate the skin, Beta-Hd™ which contains salicylic acid for cleansing and hydrating oily and acne prone skin, and Antiox-6, an antioxidant serum suitable for all skin types, which contains hyaluronic acid, Vitamins A and E and white tea extract. It is designed to combat the damage created by free radicals within the environment and deeply moisturise the skin. So it’s an effective treatment to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne, age spots and some minor scars on the skin. The treatment usually takes around 30-45 minutes and most people find that they can return to work or other activities immediately. You may experience a little tightness and redness of the skin, which may last for an hour or so, but the treatment is usually painless and doesn’t irritate the skin greatly.

How many HydraFacial treatments are recommended?

To gain maximum benefit we usually recommend that this procedure be repeated every 3 weeks for a series of four sessions initially. Maintenance treatments then can be scheduled every month.

What should I do before and after HydraFacial treatment?

  • Avoid direct sun exposure, spray tanning or sun beds for 3 weeks before and after treatment and if going in the sun a high SPF sunscreen should be applied.
  • Avoid facial peels or waxing within 7 to 14 days before or after treatment.
  • Any skin care cream enriched with A, E and C will improve the results.

Are there any side effects for HydraFacial treatment?

There is no downtime and normal routines can be resumed immediately. Some clients may experience a little redness as well as tightening of the skin, similar to mild sunburn. This should only last for a short period of time and should not create discomfort. There have been no major side effects associated with the treatment and healing time is usually a few hours.
